Community Connections
Congratulations New London DECA in receiving the New London Chamber of Commerce Mayor's award! DECA is thankful for the partnership with the New London Chamber of Commerce as it has provided enhanced learning opportunities for the high school DECA members.
New London High School participated in the Wolf River Community Bank Field Goal Contest for a chance to win money for the school. Thanks to staff members Ms. Bellile, Activities Secretary; Ms. Bruce, Assistant Principal; and Mr. Sloma, Activities Director; New London Schools received $1,000 to support school activities. Thank you to Wolf River Community Bank for this opportunity and for their donation to our school.
Elementary

This Class of 2033 member began kindergarten at Readfield this year. Even through his custom mask made by his aunt to show his love for tractors, you can tell he is smiling and ready to learn. Our Bulldogs are ready to make it a great year!
Lincoln students created sidewalk art as part of their Positive Behavior Incentive covering the first three weeks of school. Students drew and wrote slogans on the front sidewalk of the school. After drawing, students were able to read a book in the warm sunshine.
Intermediate / Middle
Chromebooks are a key learning tool at the ISMS. For more information regarding chromebook expectations and important technology tips, please check out the following link:

Fifth grade science students spent time learning about Earth's rotation by BEING Earth!
Smiles say it all as sixth grade students enjoyed their first day at the ISMS while practicing social distancing.

Seventh grade scientists enjoyed testing their use of the scientific method while designing a spacecraft that would thrive on planet Oobleck!
Finding ways to reconnect with friends while modeling important safety protocols is no problem for eighth grade students at the ISMS.
ISMS students enjoyed the nice weather while teachers found ways to teach outside. Mr. Braatz introduced a new song and the kids enjoyed singing without masks.
Bands are playing together again at the Middle School! All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade bands moved rehearsals safely outdoors last week and enjoyed making music together again!
ISMS fifth grade teachers had a great time showing the class of 2028 all around the building and introducing them to NL Middle School. Word has it that most fifth graders enjoyed the day too. It's going to be a great year!
Secondary
Members of the NLHS junior class practiced social distancing and enjoyed some of their lessons outdoors on their first day.
NLHS students in Adventure II were able to enjoy the beautiful weather with some ziplining.
NLHS students in Yearbook class had a Google Meet with the Walsworth Yearbook representative. Students are learning new technologies and making plans to commemorate this historic year for the students of New London High School.
NLHS students in Environmental Science enjoyed the beautiful weather outside as they collected leaves for their Tree Identification Project.
NLHS students in Mrs. Fielding's Principles of Biomedical Sciences class kicked off the year with a potential crime scene investigation of the mysterious death of college student Anna Garcia. They will use forensic and analytical skills to systematically document the scene, collect evidence for testing, interview persons of interest, and review autopsy results. Let's hope our new Bulldog recruits can crack this case!
NLHS junior and senior students in Mrs. Marquardt's Employability Skills this semester completed a blindfolded listening activity in class to show how important listening skills are in the workplace. Students had to trust their partner as well as listen carefully.
The NLHS DECA officer team met to plan out the first group meetings of the school year.
