In Two Days...
Our Big Day is Almost Here!
Our Wheels for Warmth Event kicks off TODAY, Thursday 10/28/21 with the tire drop-off portion beginning at 2:00 pm, and continuing tomorrow, Friday 10/29/21 as the second day for tire drop offs. Then, preparations for the tire sale begin at 4:30 am Saturday, 10/30/21, which leads right into final preparations to get our float ready to roll in the Rutland Halloween Parade!
Both of these events require a lot of workforce to be successful. Thank you to everyone who has helped so far, and thank you to everyone who will be helping in these crucial final days!

See you Saturday!
Happy Customer!
We received a nice letter from the Community Cupboard for the work performed on their parking lot over the summer.
Thank you to everyone who helped out on this worthwhile effort. Great work by all!
330C Oil Quick
The Oil Quick system was recently installed on our 330C unit #5850 for the Clarendon Quarry.
The addition of Oil Quick to this unit will allow for easy swapping of implements from the cab without getting out of the unit to drive pins in and out. This unit can now share all the implements we use on our 336.
Now, in addition to the bucket, this unit will be able to use the Gorilla GX165 hydraulic hammer, the Pemberton grapple, the add-a-stick we fabricated with a manual grapple, and the MP30 multi processor. This will provide a quick and efficient means of swapping tools, keeping production high.
Safety Corner
Hazards of Detours and Route Changes
Any time there is a detour or a change to your route, you could encounter a variety of hazards, including:
  • Unfamiliar traffic patterns
  • Low hanging wires and branches
  • Narrow roadways
  • Terrain issues
  • Low shoulders (which could pose a tipping hazard, depending on your load)

These detours could be pre-planned, or come up suddenly in the event of an accident or natural disaster that affect the roadways. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE
Rigging Safety
Rigging is dangerous, regardless of whether you have it rigged correctly or not.

Recently, we had a near-miss event where a structure was rigged up correctly to a machine that was capable of lifting it. Even though this pick was correctly planned and executed, there was still an issue that caused a failure, which sent the structure to the ground. Fortunately no one was around or under the structure, which was no more than a foot off the ground when the concrete structure broke apart and fell. This brings up a very important lesson for everyone: even if you do everything right, something can still happen to make it go wrong.
Before the pick, you should always know the weight of what you are lifting, the working load limit (WLL) of the chain/sling you are using, and the equipment's lifting capacity. If you need to position anything that is being picked, you should be attaching a tagline to make sure everyone is far back enough to avoid injury in case of failure. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE
Please keep these safety procedures in mind every time you encounter a detour and every time you perform a pick.
Thank you for staying safe!
