Dear Friend:
Let's applaud the TTF Team for our
most productive summer ever!
Read our
2019 Summer Summary
to see how we increased community engagement across our watershed these past months. It was exhilarating to share our clean water message with so many neighbors.
The fall promises to be exciting, too! At the Charles D. Conklin Jr. Pool and Recreation Center, in collaboration with Cheltenham Township, we’ll remove a Jenkintown Creek tributary from a concrete channel, direct it into a new wetland and convert 7,500 square feet of turf grass into a meadow. This project will clean and slow down the 42 acres of stormwater which flow into this headwater creek, significantly improving its health and creating habitat. A Montco 2040 grant from the
Montgomery County Planning Commission
and a
Delaware River Restoration Fund grant
from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and the William Penn Foundation make this project possible.
Hope to see you soon,
Julie
PS: Special congrats to Alex Rosario, our Trail Ambassador through
PowerCorps PHL
. He has moved on to a position with AGreenFarms. We will miss his warmth and diligence.
Meet him here.
