Breakfast Celebrates Leaders & Ambitious Students

It's been a great month at C-STEM! Our 10th Annual State of STEM Education Stakeholders Breakfast on June 10th brought the C-STEM family back together. In addition to being our biggest annual fundraiser, we had the chance to share our insights on the state of STEM education, recognize STEM Champions, and award C-STEM high school students with college scholarships.

We honored Terry and Joycelyn Williams with the 2022 STEMing the Tide Award and Dr. Kelly Coleman with the C-STEM Ambassador Award. There is still time to donate to help us reach our fundraising goal!

Thank you to our sponsors and donors!

Save the Date to Golf for a Good Cause

Houston's Fifth Ward Chamber of Commerce has chosen C-STEM as the nonprofit organization to benefit from part of the proceeds raised at its 2022 Charity Golf Tournament this September.

The Fifth Ward Chamber of Commerce strives to help create revitalization in the 5th Ward Community by serving as a liaison for existing businesses and new entrepreneurship. The chamber is choosing to support C-STEM in our efforts to increase participation of minority and female students in high quality relevant STEM opportunities. All funds from this event will be dedicated to supporting essential components of operations and charitable programming.

You can support this event by participating, becoming a sponsor or donating.

We are incredibly proud and honored to be selected for this opportunity. Thank you to the Fifth Ward Chamber of Commerce for your support and sharing in our mission to change the lives of students.

C-STEM Featured on Great Day Great Deeds

This week, KHOU-11 featured C-STEM on its Great Day Great Deeds segment. C-STEM was chosen as the winner out of several worthy organizations in Houston. Check it out and consider sponsoring a C-STEM Toolkit for a student in need.

Welcome Our New Intern

C-STEM is excited to welcome Ethan Hindmarsh to the team as part of our summer internship program. Ethan is a 2022 graduate from Sconzo Early College High School. He also graduated with an associate's degree from Lonestar Community College. He'll be attending Texas State University in the fall with an academic scholarship.

Ethan will be working on enhancing our website and developing the Coding C-STEM Challenge for the 2022-2023 academic school year.

“I hope to help make children love computer programming as much as I do," said Ethan Hindmarsh.

Father's Day Surprise

Houston's Moysten Law Firm and 1-800-truckwreck honored five local fathers with $1,000 each for Father's Day.

The competition called on the spouse of the fathers in the Greater Houston Area to describe why your significant other deserves the $1,000. Hundreds of fathers were entered to win.

One of the deserving nominees was C-STEM's own Hamane Edwards. Congratulations Hamane!
