Indian Hill Meadow at Boyce Park
Set your GPS to "meadow" and it might point you in the direction of the Indian Hill Meadow at Boyce Park. July is the perfect month to visit this spectacular mix of sun-loving perennials. In addition to attracting hundreds of visitors at its peak bloom, this meadow has taught ACPF and Allegheny County Parks the ecological value of planting meadows in more of our nine parks.

Citizen Scientist Sign-Up
Here's a chance to enjoy the outdoors and learn about the parks' ecology at the same time.
The Parks Foundation has increased the tree and plant populations over the past few years and we're checking for increased pollinator activities.
ACPF is recruiting Citizen Scientists to record the activity of fireflies, monarch butterflies and bumble bees in South Park and Boyce Park where new plantings have taken place.
We need your help! The Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania is teaming with us to train volunteers. Please join us!

Friends of South Park honor ACPF staffer
The Friends of South Park honored Barbara Brewton, ACPF Development and Project Manager, for her "exceptional" leadership. Barb has helped the Parks Foundation forge an important partnership with the Friends, very active volunteers who love their park. Their citation honored her "devotion to the Friends organization and South Park." The Friends generously donated $10,000 to ACPF for the restoration of the Cascades at Stone Manse.
