SUPPORT CECILE’S SUMMER OF FUN!

Please help us honor the memory of MVK founding board member Cecile Prager, who passed away May 6, 2025, by supporting joyful and meaningful summer outings for MVK youth and their families.

Cecile was a devoted educator and literacy advocate who strongly believed in MVK's mission. She often shared that children had an easier time learning to read words like “giraffe” or “zebra” after seeing these animals at the zoo; demonstrating how MVK experiences inspire learning.

Please make a donation today and help MVK continue Cecile’s legacy by offering youth these enriching experiences she passionately supported:

DONOR SPOTLIGHT

“Having grown up in and around baseball, I've always been passionate about fostering the love of baseball for kids. Donating tickets gives me an opportunity to do that for kids who might not have another opportunity to see a game live.”

Jeff Haws, Braves ticket donor

“ MVK is a win win. I don't have to worry about selling every game we can't attend, and I know that someone else is getting to enjoy the game! I love getting pictures and notes from the families.”

— Daniel Smith, Braves ticket donor

THANK YOU ATLANTA HAWKS ORGANIZATION!

The Atlanta Hawks organization is MVK's largest donor generously sharing more than 24,000 tickets to Hawks and College Park Skyhawks (NBA G League) since 2017. Hear why they continue to give:

"The Atlanta Hawks organization believes from the top down that we are a community asset and we need to support fellow Atlantans by building bridges through basketball. Our continued work with MVK is to help support that mission - it allows youth in the metro area to be able to attend a game and create memories with family and friends.”

— Brian Graham, Senior Director of Ticket Sales & Operations

Dance students from Booker T. Washington High School were treated to a choreography clinic and Q&A with Hannah Schmidt, dance captain and cast member of the national tour of Peter Pan. Students learned the choreography to “Friends Forever” and saw the dance come to life on stage as part of nearly 420 MVK youth who were given Peter Pan tickets to the Fox in April.

CELEBRATING OUR 2025 GRADUATES

(CLICK THE PHOTO TO SEE THE DIGITAL CARD)

In an annual tradition, we celebrated MVK graduates in a meaningful way. This year's MVK Graduation Card was designed by Dekiya, a student from Benjamin E. Mays High School, when she was in 10th grade. Now a graduating senior, Dekiya received an award from the school as MVK presented her with the 2025 edition featuring her design.

The card included an inspiring quote from another Mays alum, Mayor Andre Dickens:

"A strong educational foundation leads to a lifetime of opportunities. We salute every senior as they take the next steps in becoming our future leaders."

MVK handed out cards to every graduate from Benjamin E. Mays High School, Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta, and more. Share the digital card with your favorite 2025 grad!

FUELING MVK YOUTH INSIDE & OUT

MVK is grateful for our partnership with Souper Jenny's The Zadie Project, a local nonprofit that works to combat food insecurity for families and seniors who struggle to access or afford enough nutritional food.

During the 2024-2025 school year, MVK distributed 3,100 quarts of delicious, nourishing Souper Jenny soup to MVK youth and their families!

A CHANCE TO LEARN AND GROW

MVK not only fosters a love of the arts, we encourage dialogue, empathy, and connection. When the Tony-award winning musical Parade — written by Atlantan Alfred Uhry— came to the Fox in April, MVK recognized a powerful learning opportunity. The show explores Georgia’s history of racial and antisemitic prejudice. MVK partnered with Broadway in Atlanta to distribute more than 200 tickets to youth from the Black/Jewish Coalition of the Atlanta Jewish Committee, the Black-Jewish Partnership for Social Justice, and local high school affinity and theater groups.
