From the Pastor...
Grace and peace to you, FPC!
“Next to the Word of God,” said Martin Luther, “the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world.”
FPC is blessed with many talented musicians. This Sunday, we’ll hear both our Chancel Choir and our Handbells. And, in honor of Reformation Sunday, we’ll be singing Luther’s most famous hymn, “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God,” so be ready to sing with vigor!
Stay after worship to play Bunco with us in Lambert Hall. I’m not sure what Luther would make of Bunco, though he wasn’t above playing all games (he helped make nine-pin bowling popular). But he approved of Christians enjoying each other’s fellowship, as we’ll be doing.
Speaking of fellowship: Tower Youth are going on a hayride this Sunday night. The Prayer Shawl knitting and crochet ministry meets this Tuesday, as it does each week. And if you might be interested in a men’s breakfast Bible study, let me know; some men of FPC are exploring possibilities, and would welcome your involvement.
In worship, in fellowship, and in service, God calls us to life together. As Luther also said, “To gather with God's people in united adoration of the Father is as necessary to the Christian life as prayer.”
See you on Sunday, and SDG (Solo Deo Gloria)!
