Celebrate El Segundo!
Please join us for two of the most anticipated events of the year hosted by the City of El Segundo: The Centennial "Celebrate! Family Friendly Fun & Memories
El Segundo has been a busy place full of family fun events like the Firefighter's Pancake Breakfast, the El Segundo Centennial Carnival, the Main Street Car Show, the Richmond Street Fair and many others. For every event, El Segundo TV is there to capture memories for viewing on TV and YouTube.
ESPD Head Out to the Ballpark
ESPD was front and center with Chief Whalen as part of the pre-game intro on the playing field. Also, read about the 2nd Community Police Academy, a newly launched Lost & Found web page. Then help us welcome Jacklyn Duran to the El Segundo family.
Fire's Community Impact
New paramedic rescues that ultimately impact patient experience and community health status have arrived! Watch a video of Fire Marshal Carver's amazing and educational story of survival. Get an update on our recent Fire events and help us welcome Firefighter Chase Long.
Short Term Rental Regulation
There is a relatively new phenomenon of property owners and tenants renting their living spaces to strangers on a short term basis. At the direction of the City Council, staff worked as a team to create a process for managing short-term rentals.
Library Fall Activities
A partnership was formed between the library and local businesses to provide you with incentives to shop local. Also check out new sessions of free classes and events such as computer classes, interactive drop-in events with themes for all ages, and Fall book clubs. Read about new featured books on pets, mysteries, and celebrities born in November. Get an update on upcoming library events and news from the Friends of the Library and History Committee.
Capital Improvement Program Update
At 2017 Budget Workshop, Director of Public Works Ken Berkman presented a third quarter review of the City’s $14M Capital Improvement Program. The program is in alignment with the City’s goal of quality infrastructure and technology. The objective is to make sure the city infrastructure is well maintained and supports an appealing safe and effective city.
