Streetlives, a community-built digital platform that will enable anyone in need to find, rate, and recommend information on social services, won the inaugural NextGen Innovation Award .

The Award, which was launched last year to advance creative strategies for alleviating homelessness, was presented to Streetlives at Celebrating Innovation in January.

“The Streetlives team is honored to win the NCS NextGen Innov ation Award from an organization with deep roots in New York City and especially thrilled by the generous reception our entire team received at the Celebrating Innovation event,” Bard shared following the presentation.

Celebrating Innovation, the NextGen Network's kickoff event exceeded all expectations, raising more than $20,000 for NCS programs!

Guests at the January 29th event heard from the Streetlives team and Louis Nine House resident Dawson.

Thank you to City Council Member Ben Kallos for joining us to speak about homelessness and the importance of supportive housing in New York City.

Dawson grew up in the foster care system, then moved into a homeless shelter. Life wasn't easy for him, but Dawson persevered.

Board Member and NextGen Network Co-Chair Matthew Hughes was so inspired by the Louis Nine House resident's story that he reached out to his business contacts to see if someone could give Dawson a chance.

Neighborhood Coalition for Shelter welcomes Dominick Mattina as the new Director of Chance for Change . Dominick brings more than 30 years of experience managing and directing outpatient programs and a strong background in the treatment of co-occurring (mental health and substance abuse) disorders to his new role. He has lived on the Upper East Side for the past 28 years and is "excited to give back to the community."

The NextGen Network is hosting monthly dinners at the NCS Residence. The dinners give NextGen Network members a chance to get to know the residents and provide residents with dinner and the opportunity to socialize with young professionals.

The first dinner, held in February, was a huge success and the residents shared that they can't wait for the next one!

Join NCS's monthly giving program to provide the ongoing support needed to help NCS's clients live with dignity and independence in safe ad stable housing.
