NEWS FROM THE FOUNDATION

Do you wonder how your donations to the Redwood City Library Foundation are used?

Recently the Foundation funded the purchase of new iPads to support the Bridging the Digital Divide and Makerspace initiatives. The Digital Divide initiative provides literacy tools, including devices and internet connectivity, to those who might not have access otherwise. Thirty new iPads were purchased to replace the current circulating iPads in the children's room of the Downtown Library. These iPads are pre-loaded with preschool appropriate applications and can be checked out for 3 weeks at a time.

Six iPads, purchased to support the Makerspace LEGO Robotics League, will be used for the new LEGO Robotics Camps at the Schaberg and Redwood Shores branch libraries. Kids can learn how to build and program robots with LEGO Spike Prime Robotics Kits in a free 4-week session. For more details, go here
