Building Faithfully Campaign
Sunday, October 18
| | | |
One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts. Psalm 145:4
We are excited about this Sunday’s commitment time for the Building Faithfully Capital Campaign! As a church, we have the opportunity to demonstrate our stewardship of what God has entrusted to each of us for his kingdom and future generations. Every gift matters, regardless of size. We hope to see every family taking part prayerfully and in proportion to what God has given, so that together we can say this was our generation’s offering in support of Christ Covenant’s continued impact in Matthews, throughout North Carolina, and beyond. Please plan to bring your commitment card forward during our worship time this coming Sunday morning, October 18. If you are unable to attend this Sunday, you can turn in your card on Sunday, October 25 or use the online commitment card at christcovenant.org/building-faithfully. We look forward to sharing an update of commitment results on Sunday, November 1.

"Anchored Leadership in Turbulent Times"
at RTS Charlotte
Friday, October 30
| | | |
All are invited to attend "Anchored Leadership in Turbulent Times" seminar at the RTS campus in Charlotte on Friday, October 30. Our Senior Pastor, Kevin DeYoung, is one of the featured speakers. The cost is $50 and includes lunch.
We live in an age marked by anxiety, cultural upheaval, institutional distrust, and rapid change. These realities bring unique challenges for Christian leaders. How do we lead with courage without becoming reactionary? How do we lead with conviction and love? How do we exercise wisdom without simply following the spirit of the age?
The opportunity of Christian leadership is to lead in such a way that the character of God shines through us. Leadership shaped by God’s character, and wisdom drawn from his Word, is what will bring untold blessing to churches, ministries, businesses, and institutions.
Anchored Leadership in Turbulent Times brings together pastors, ministry leaders, and Christian leaders in the marketplace for a conference devoted to the character, convictions, and wisdom needed for faithful and godly leadership.
Drawing upon the deep biblical and theological resources of the Christian faith, as well as lessons learned through years of leadership in the church, higher education, government, law, and public life, we will consider what it means to lead with steadiness, courage, prudence, virtue, and faithfulness when the ground around us is shifting.

RTS Equip Series: "Redeeming Sexuality"
at RTS Charlotte
Monday, November 2
| | | |
All are invited to the campus of Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS) Charlotte on Monday, November 2 for their Equip Series featuring "Redeeming Sexuality" with Scott Mehl.
In a culture marked by confusion about sexuality, the church is called to recover a distinctly biblical vision—one that is shaped not by cultural pressures, but by the redeeming work of Christ.
Join Dr. Scott Mehl for an insightful and pastoral exploration of how the gospel transforms our understanding of sexuality for every stage of life. Dr. Mehl will show how God's design for both marriage and celibacy point us to the beauty, sufficiency, and glory of Christ.
Whether married or single, young or old, this event will encourage you to see sexuality not merely as a matter of personal fulfillment, but as an area of life transformed by the gospel and ordered toward God's glory.

Day of Prayer and Fasting
Tuesday, November 3
| | | |
At the 2026 General Assembly, the Assembly approved a motion to call the churches of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) to a day of prayer and fasting for revival and renewal in the church. Commenting on that decision Moderator Ruling Elder Mel Duncan stated it like this: Congregations, ministries, officers, and families should “humble themselves before the Lord, fast, and pray. We are called to heartfelt repentance over the sins of ministers, officers, members, and congregations, and to earnest petition for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the blessing of God upon the preached Word, the conversion of the lost, the planting of faithful churches, and the advance of the gospel in our communities, on college campuses, and throughout the world.”
We have set aside Tuesday, November 3, as Christ Covenant Church's dedicated day for prayer and fasting. Please give yourself to a focused time of prayer that day. If you are able, you may consider fasting as well as an expression of your hunger for God to act. Our churches and families need renewal. We need to petition the Lord to make our lamp burn bright. From our homes, schools, or places of work lets devote ourselves as one body to calling upon the name of the Lord. The Lord promises that the prayer of a righteous man has great power. (James 5:16)
