Building Faithfully Campaign

Sunday, September 27

One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. Psalm 145:4

The Building Faithfully Capital Campaign is off to a great start! If you have not already picked up a campaign booklet, we hope you will stop by one of the tables in one of worship center lobbies through October to get one. In this booklet you will learn more about the vision of where God is leading Christ Covenant as we take on these projects, and how you can participate. Rob Veerman and Bobby Silver, Co-chairs of the Building Faithfully Campaign, are available at the Book Nook in the main lobby of the worship center to answer any campaign questions immediately after Sunday night’s service this week and again on Sunday evening, October 11. As you prepare to make your commitment on Sunday, October 18 or 25, we hope you will learn more about the Building Faithfully Campaign at christcovenant.org/building-faithfully and pray about how you can participate.

Sunday School

Sunday, September 27

We hope you will join us this Sunday, September 27 for Sunday School. All Sunday School classes for all ages begin at 9:00 am. To see adult class options, pick up a Sunday School booklet in any lobby of the worship center or click here. For adults, we have a variety of classes for you to choose from, and we hope that you will select one that will assist you as you grow in your walk with Christ.

Youth Sunday School

All middle and high school students meet in the Youth Center in the lower Community Life Center at 9:00 am for Sunday School. If you have questions about youth Sunday School, please email MK Barber.

Children's Sunday School

During Sunday School this Sunday morning, all our children from two years old to fifth grade are learning about the Last Supper from The Biggest Story Bible Storybook curriculum, from the lesson “A Meal for All Ages,” on Matthew 26. If you sit near a family with young children, please take a moment to ask the children to share what they learned in Sunday School with you! If you have questions regarding Sunday School for children ages birth to 5th grade, please email Amy Wallace.

Christ Covenant Welcomes New Interns

Join us in welcoming our new interns to Christ Covenant! We hope you will join us in welcoming them and praying for them.

Connor Curtis

Connor grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, in a home that loved Jesus and his church. He came to faith at a young age and began to grow more deeply in high school through the influence of his parents, his youth pastor, and godly friends.

He attended Auburn University, where he studied Industrial Engineering and was actively involved in Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) and RUF‑International. After graduating, he moved to Memphis, Tennessee, to complete the Fellows Program at Second Presbyterian Church as he discerned whether the Lord was calling him to vocational ministry or engineering.

Following a year working in engineering, Connor sensed a clear internal call to ministry and joined the youth staff at Briarwood Presbyterian Church, the church where he grew up, serving under his former youth pastor. After three years in that role, Connor moved to Charlotte in the summer of 2025 to begin his M.Div. at Reformed Theological Seminary with the goal of becoming a pastor after graduation.

Luke Engstrom

Luke is originally from Charlotte and grew up at Christ Covenant in a Christian household. He graduated from Wheaton College in 2025 with a B.A. in Philosophy, Political Science, and Spanish and was on the soccer team. While at Wheaton, he was an intern and served in youth ministry for four years at Christ Presbyterian Church Wheaton (PCA). Luke moved back to Charlotte in the fall of 2025 to pursue an M.Div. at Reformed Theological Seminary. After graduating, he plans to pursue pastoral ministry.

Ty Hall

Ty grew up in Clovis, California, where he was raised in a Christian home and church. It wasn’t until going to college in Phoenix, Arizona that he recognized both the depth of his sin and the grace of God toward him in Christ, resulting in a radical change in his lifestyle and priorities. At this time, he met his wife, Sabrina, and began to aspire to pastoral ministry.

Ty worked in college admissions for a year before being hired at his local church to direct their college ministry and began seminary online through The Master’s Seminary. After two years at this non-denominational Bible church, Ty and Sabrina came to Reformed theological convictions, leading them to look for a new church, job, and seminary. Following a summer interning at an OPC in Scottsdale, Arizona, they moved to Charlotte in 2025 for Ty to earn his M.Div. at Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS) and work as the 18|22 Ministry Director at Christ Covenant Church. After graduating, the Halls are looking to train for overseas church-planting at Radius International and labor among unreached language groups.

Oswin Suwandi

Oswin moved to Charlotte this past July from Jakarta, Indonesia, where he previously served on staff at Covenant City Church Jakarta. He is currently pursuing his studies as a student at Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS) Charlotte and will be serving Christ Covenant as a pastoral intern over the next three years.

Lord willing, after completing his internship and studies, Oswin plans to return to Jakarta in 2029 to plant a new church with Covenant City Church. In his free time, he enjoys playing a variety of racket sports—so if you are looking for a game of badminton, table tennis, or pickleball, be sure to connect with him!

Women’s Ministry Intern: Gaby Djunatan

Gabriella (Gaby) grew up in Melbourne, Australia, in a Reformed Evangelical church and a Christian family. It was not until high school, however, that she began to take her faith seriously. At a youth camp studying Ecclesiastes, God convicted her of her sin and the vanity of life without Jesus’ love and redemptive power. God grew her desire to pursue full-time ministry in university, where she was involved in campus ministry and multiple areas of her local church. After graduating, she worked as an animator while serving as a leader at church and Christian organizations. These experiences helped to clarify and develop her calling, conviction and competency in ministry.

As she sought further training, God opened the door for her to move to Charlotte in the summer of 2025 to pursue an M.Div. at Reformed Theological Seminary. Gaby hopes to return to Australia to serve in a church plant or small church, helping to establish and develop a women’s ministry and provide biblical counseling.

Sunday, September 27

All college-age/18-22-year-olds are welcome to join us at the Hall's for our monthly 18|22 Lunch this Sunday, September 27, at 1:00 pm! This is an opportunity to gather over food and conversation about the things of the Lord. Feel free to bring snacks/dessert/drinks!
