"Anchored Leadership in Turbulent Times"

at RTS Charlotte

Friday, October 30

All are invited to attend "Anchored Leadership in Turbulent Times" seminar at the RTS campus in Charlotte on Friday, October 30. Our Senior Pastor, Kevin DeYoung, is one of the featured speakers. The cost is $50 and includes lunch.

We live in an age marked by anxiety, cultural upheaval, institutional distrust, and rapid change. These realities bring unique challenges for Christian leaders. How do we lead with courage without becoming reactionary? How do we lead with conviction and love? How do we exercise wisdom without simply following the spirit of the age?

The opportunity of Christian leadership is to lead in such a way that the character of God shines through us. Leadership shaped by God’s character, and wisdom drawn from his Word, is what will bring untold blessing to churches, ministries, businesses, and institutions.

Anchored Leadership in Turbulent Times brings together pastors, ministry leaders, and Christian leaders in the marketplace for a conference devoted to the character, convictions, and wisdom needed for faithful and godly leadership.

Drawing upon the deep biblical and theological resources of the Christian faith, as well as lessons learned through years of leadership in the church, higher education, government, law, and public life, we will consider what it means to lead with steadiness, courage, prudence, virtue, and faithfulness when the ground around us is shifting.

HisAbilities Respite Night

Volunteers & Participants Needed

Deadline to Sign Up is Friday, October 30

Our next HisAbilities Ministry Respite Night is just around the corner on Saturday, November 14, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. As always, our respite events provide a wonderful opportunity for our church to come alongside our families impacted by disability by providing a few hours of respite for parents while their children (younger or older) are cared for and engaged by a loving team of volunteers! It’s also a great time to make encouraging connections with this special part of our church body!

Volunteers are needed and must be members of Christ Covenant, but no experience with disabilities is necessary. We seek to ensure all volunteers are serving in roles best suited to them. Please sign up to volunteer by clicking here select volunteer. Email with any questions to hisabilities@christcovenant.org or call Amy Van Dusen at 704-814-1064.

Also, if you are a Christ Covenant family (members or regularly attending) impacted by disability or special needs who would benefit from participating in the Respite Night please click here to sign up and select participant.

The RSVP deadline for both volunteers and participants is Friday, October 30.

Deacons' Special Offering:

PCA Women's Ministry Love Gift

Sunday, November 1

Each month on communion Sunday our deacons have a special offering for one of our church’s supported ministries. This Sunday, our deacons are asking for us to prayerfully consider giving a gift to PCA CDM Women’s Ministry Love Gift, which will strengthen our denomination’s Women’s Ministry through:

• Intentional Training: Resourcing underserved presbyteries and churches within our eight geographic regions with a subsidized women’s ministry training.

• Investing In Young Leaders: Investing to encourage and equip young female leaders across the PCA with a monthly cohort that exposes them to seasoned leaders and life-giving leadership training.

• Effective Communication: Sharpen our communications tools by investing in our website, podcast, and digital media.

Thank you for your gift and for your prayers for the PCA’s Women’s Ministry Love Gift Legacy. To learn more visit women.pcacdm.org/lovegift. Please place all special/monthly communion offering gifts in an envelope (found in pews) and label it ‘Special Communion Offering’ and include the name of the ministry before placing your gift in one of the tithe boxes located inside the sanctuary at our main doors in the north, south and toward the main lobby. You can also give online by clicking here. Thank you for your gift!

RTS Equip Series: "Redeeming Sexuality"

at RTS Charlotte

Monday, November 2

All are invited to the campus of Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS) Charlotte on Monday, November 2 for their Equip Series featuring "Redeeming Sexuality" with Scott Mehl.

In a culture marked by confusion about sexuality, the church is called to recover a distinctly biblical vision—one that is shaped not by cultural pressures, but by the redeeming work of Christ.

Join Dr. Scott Mehl for an insightful and pastoral exploration of how the gospel transforms our understanding of sexuality for every stage of life. Dr. Mehl will show how God's design for both marriage and celibacy point us to the beauty, sufficiency, and glory of Christ.

Whether married or single, young or old, this event will encourage you to see sexuality not merely as a matter of personal fulfillment, but as an area of life transformed by the gospel and ordered toward God's glory.

Day of Prayer and Fasting

Tuesday, November 3

At the 2026 General Assembly, the Assembly approved a motion to call the churches of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) to a day of prayer and fasting for revival and renewal in the church. Commenting on that decision Moderator Ruling Elder, Mel Duncan, stated it like this: Congregations, ministries, officers, and families should “humble themselves before the Lord, fast, and pray. We are called to heartfelt repentance over the sins of ministers, officers, members, and congregations, and to earnest petition for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the blessing of God upon the preached Word, the conversion of the lost, the planting of faithful churches, and the advance of the gospel in our communities, on college campuses, and throughout the world.”

We have set aside Tuesday, November 3, as Christ Covenant Church's dedicated day for prayer and fasting. Please give yourself to a focused time of prayer that day. If you are able, you may consider fasting as well as an expression of your hunger for God to act. Our churches and families need renewal. We need to petition the Lord to make our lamp burn bright. From our homes, schools, or places of work lets devote ourselves as one body to calling upon the name of the Lord. The Lord promises that the prayer of a righteous man has great power. (James 5:16)
