The 'Mission Nutrition' team of Leadership Wilkes-Barre is planning a fundraiser with proceeds benefiting the Health Equity program at Volunteers in Medicine. The goal of the project is to purchase an industrial refrigerator and racking for the VIM facility. This will allow the staff to store fresh produce including meats, fruits and vegetables and distribute free to patients.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, February 27th at the The River Street Jazz Cafe and will feature a live band, food, drinks and raffles. Tickets to the fundraiser, how to donate and any questions about the project can be found on their facebook page or by emailing the Mission Nutrition team at lwbmissionnutrition@yahoo.com.
February of 2020 is the 100 Year Anniversary of the original Lee’s Garage that now houses Volunteers in Medicine. Don’t miss your chance to etch your name in history! Purchase a paver that will be installed in the Spring around the border of the new parking lot.
VIM is not a federally-funded clinic and does not charge for services. The clinic operates solely from donations from businesses and individuals, grants from foundations and proceeds from special events. Any contribution you are able to make assists VIM with keeping our low-income neighbors healthy, well and working.
