Next month, the Town of Hollis is planning 11 days of patriotic celebration, community pride, and historical reflection in honor of our country's 250th anniversary. In 2026, the United States will mark a historic milestone — of the Declaration of Independence, known as the Semiquincentennial. This nationwide celebration will feature a variety of events and initiatives, with special emphasis on July 4, 2026.. Highlights include the kickoff concert on July 1st, formal ceremonies and field day activities on the 4th, a family movie night on the 10th, and the grand finale on July 11th featuring music, rides, a family picnic, and fireworks.
Hollis Arts Society was asked to create a large scale mural for the citizens of Hollis to express their sentiments of "What Liberty Means" to them. For our general meeting this month, on Wednesday, June 10th at 7pm, we will be preparing the shapes that will be available for decoration during the 4 of July festivities.

Our mural will be out in Nichols Field on July 4th from 12pm-1:30pm and again on
July 10th from 5-7pm. Hollis Arts Society will then frame the entire piece which will be hung in Hollis Town Hall for public viewing.
So, don't miss your chance to come run with scissors this Wednesday evening and weave yourself into our town's heritage.
