A new year, and a new sermon series!
We hope to see you tomorrow morning at 9am or 11am for worship at the First United Methodist Church of Eugene!

For the next four weeks we will be looking at the points of intersection of Christian thought and theology, and the ideas of other faiths and and faith communities.

We will look at places of similarity and difference.  We are living in a time when people of faith must work together to make the world a better place, and my prayer is that this season will help us to better understand our neighbors, and better understand ourselves.
Pastor Jessie and I will be trading off preaching through this season - so tomorrow I will lead us through some points on where Christianity and Islam come into conversation. Next week Pastor Jessie will look at our intersections with Judaism... then Sikhism and our Baha’i neighbors in the following weeks.

I hope to see you in worship!

Sunday Morning Men's Group!
The men's group is meeting tomorrow at 8:00am!

This is a great group of guys, and they are particularly good at welcoming first-timers - oh, and they always have great coffee! They meet in the church library!
Creative Ways to Give!
On your green sheets Sunday you will see this image! It is a QR code, and if you have a smart phone, its camera will recognize its unique pattern, and direct you to our giving website! It is a great way to give to the church if you find yourself without a checkbook on Sunday morning! Let the church office know if you have any questions!
New Sunday Bible Study in the New Year!
This December we have had some really great small groups digging into a great book by Brian McLaren, “We Make the Road by Walking.”

Some have expressed an interest in continuing that conversation, and so in the new year we are going to try a Bible study in the fellowship hall, after the 11am worship service.

We will use the McLaren readings and recommended scripture readings to guide as as we get started.

Let's meet and discuss after the 11am worship service tomorrow, and get started in earnest on January 13th.

All are welcome!
12th Night Concert Tomorrow Afternoon!

The annual concert features some of the best young instrumentalists in Eugene.
