Thank you everyone who helped make Advent and Christmas Eve so special!
It was such a beautiful Advent and Christmas Eve at the First United Methodist Church of Eugene! Thank you so much to the staff, volunteers and family who helped to make it such a fun season.

We hope to see you tomorrow morning at 9am or 11am for worship at the First United Methodist Church of Eugene! Pastor Jessie is preaching from the story of the boy Jesus, teaching in the temple. For a sneak peek at that scripture reading, click here .

Children & Youth this Sunday!
Both of our Sunday morning worship services include Godly Play for ages 4 - 12. Ring/Sing/Serve will take this Sunday off, and we will be back with a fun service project on January 6th - more on that below!
Sunday Morning Men's Group!
The men's group is meeting tomorrow at 8:00am!

This is a great group of guys, and they are particularly good at welcoming first-timers - oh, and they always have great coffee! They meet in the church library!
Creative Ways to Give!
On your green sheets Sunday you will see this image! It is a QR code, and if you have a smart phone, its camera will recognize its unique pattern, and direct you to our giving website! It is a great way to give to the church if you find yourself without a checkbook on Sunday morning! Let the church office know if you have any questions!
Poinsettias are Still Available!
We are having a lot of fun delivering poinsettias out into the community - if you would like to pick one up this Sunday to share with a neighbor, feel free! Thanks to your generosity, we are able to share these gifts with others, and doing these deliveries is a great reminder of how fun generosity can be!
Conference-wide Study Continues in the New Year!
This December we have had some really great small groups digging into a great book by Brian McLaren, “We Make the Road by Walking.”

Some have expressed an interest in continuing that conversation, and so in the new year we are going to try a Bible study in the fellowship hall, after the 11am worship service.

We will use the McLaren readings and recommended scripture readings to guide as as we get started.

All are welcome!
Opportunities to Serve!
We need a quick lunch-bag-assembling experience on January 6th, to make sure we have enough lunch bags for our neighbors as we move into the new year. But starting tomorrow you can drop off those supplies here at the church. Please consider adding to your shopping list:

  • Gallon Ziplock Bags
  • Spoons
  • Cracker Packs
  • Soft Granola Bars
  • Cheese Sticks
  • Napkins
  • Juice Boxes
  • Raisin Boxes
  • Pudding/Fruit Cups
