Hometown Missions Concludes Today in Albany
The Rev. Joshua Varner tells the story of creation.
High School youth from across the Diocese are working together in Albany this week to provide a Vacation Bible School for kids in the Radium Springs area, which was devastated by a tornado earlier this year. This year, the event is hosted by St. John's and St. Mark's Episcopal Church, which itself suffered some damage in the tornado. The church has been working for years to connect to the local community through block parties and other events as well as partnering with their local school.
Hometown Missions is an annual mission trip for teens working within the Diocese. In addition to the mission trips we sponsor in other countries, Hometown Missions gives our teens a way to support the communities where we worship.

Kids make crafts and enjoy singing in these VBS photos. At bottom right, the Rev. Joshua Varner, diocesan Youth Missioner, takes the song low and everyone pretends to sleep.

Creation Care Commission Heads Down to the River

Administrator's Corner
Getting Ready for Realm in the Diocese of Georgia
I recently returned from The Music City (Nashville) where I attended the ACSTechnologies Conference. ACSTechnologies is the company that hosts our ACS database and event registration. Through our existing partnership with ACS, they are offering an exciting opportunity for the Diocese of Georgia.

ACS has been working on developing and enhancing a new product called Realm. We will be hosting and supporting 7-10 congregations through a launch and pilot program being set up with this new product.

What is Realm?

Realm is a community, giving, accounting, and event planning tool all in one place. The software is cloud based, allowing users and administrators to log-in any time, any where. You can use the system to set up annual pledge contributions, schedule events and payments, and even manage your accounting (fund accounting). They've developed strong security and user privileges to allow administrators, priests, volunteers, and church members access to various information securely. While at the conference, I had the chance to view several of the applications in person and was impressed with the ease and simplicity of the design.

Benefits include:
* Cloud based system
* Strong security protocol
* Integrated church administration functions
* Secure payment transaction
* Detailed reporting and dashboards

If you are looking for a single platform to manage these components, please reach out to me for more information. I encourage you to watch the demo on their website here:

There are a few openings in the Diocese's pilot program and interested parishes can contact me for more information. Those interested in participating in the group rate for Realm in the future are invited to reach out to me also, kwilloughby@gaepiscopal.org.
