Seeing the Word:
Women of the Bible
Mondays, March 1-22
6:30-7:30 pm, via Zoom
Space is limited!
This Wisdom Circle is a contemplative prayer practice using illuminations from the St John’s Bible. These beautiful images bring to life passages from Scripture, helping us to engage with the Word, encounter the Divine, and enact the Message in our daily lives.

Journey with us through the Lenten season and explore the often-overlooked women of the Bible. We will get to see their faith, hope, courage, and love highlighted in the St John’s Bible.

Celebrating Black History Month
Game Changer
By Meg Gallagher

“How was it possible that I was both a ‘good person’ and utterly clueless?”

On the surface, this book doesn’t seem to be about Black history, but it describes my history with Black people and racism. So much in this book shocked and embarrassed me; a sense of visceral truth ran through my body over and over as I read Debby Irving’s revealing story about her white blindness. I also felt the great relief that comes with confession, and my mind was free to really learn from her story. I don’t want to take my freedom for granted any longer and I am trying to live into a new consciousness of loving and dignifying all human beings. Thank goodness that there are many wonderful books for me to read, many gracious teachers, especially those of color, who will show me the way.

Check out the Retreat House Bookshop to see this and other great books! With every purchase, 10% goes to the Retreat House and to independent booksellers.
In honor of Black History Month we are giving away one of the above books to one lucky winner!

You can enter the giveaway via Facebook or Instagram. Visit either and follow the simple instructions there!

We've extended the giveaway! It now ends ends 2/28/21 at 8:00pm EST. Winner will be announced 3/1/21!
