United Moments with UWYC
Kim's Corner

I recently read an article about all things related to joy. The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines joy as an emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune; delight. With spring just around the corner, the very thought of being outside in the warm sunshine brings me great joy! How about you? How do you define joy in your life? Apple CEO Tim Cook offers this advice: “Let your joy be in your journey - not in some distant goal.”

At United Way of Yellowstone County, our board, staff and volunteers, agency partners, and coalition members are dedicated to improving lives, sometimes by performing the simplest of tasks for the marginalized.  For those who are wondering where they will sleep safely tonight or where their next meal might come from, providing assistance to every citizen in Yellowstone County who needs it is a cornerstone for us. At the end of the day, a warm bed, a nutritious meal, and even a smile can make someone’s day brighter. How do you give joy to others?

Share the Good News!
Every winter we are concerned about keeping our homeless neighbors safe and warm. This winter added an additional concern with the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

Luckily, the Continuum of Care is a coalition made up of local experts and backed by UWYC equipped to address the needs of our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

Their quick action was able to secure a site for a temporary low-barrier shelter and quarantine and isolation site. It is without question that these efforts have helped improve and save lives over the past several months!

Thank you to everyone who has donated to this important cause!
