Seeking Advisory Planning Commission Members

The Town is seeking members to serve on the Advisory Planning Commission (APC).

 

The APC advises Council on matters within the scope of Section 461 of the Local Government Act, including rezoning and development permit applications.

 

At least four of the five APC members must reside within the municipal boundaries of the Town of Qualicum Beach, and preference is given to applicants with experience in the following areas:

  • architecture and urban planning
  • environmental matters
  • land development industry
  • local business community
  • representative of youth
  • representative of aging population
  • local tourism industry
  • community interest in design and development is also considered an asset


Members of the Commission shall serve for a two-year term, expiring December 31, 2027. All appointments are on a volunteer basis and serve without remuneration. Regular meetings are held in-person on the first and third Wednesdays of the month, at 2:00 pm, as required.
