The IWM Board of Directors welcomes all sangha members to step forward with ideas and energy. Please join us in bringing practice into everyday life through sangha service. Ways to serve include:
-
Becoming a Board member. We seek to add new voices and expertise to our Board of Directors. See below for information about applying to join.
- Becoming a Sangha Steward. As we prepare to re-open our center this fall, we are also eager to welcome volunteer leaders in a range of capacities.
This is an invitation to help steward the sangha while also embodying the Dharma through community engagement and sangha practice. Our intention is to co-create - with you - a warm, welcoming, alive space grounded in wisdom and compassion where we can come together to embody the Dharma in joyful relationship. The sangha will flourish in the direction we take it as a community.
Please read more below if the opportunity to serve interests you.
Board of Directors: Seeking New Members
The Board of Directors for IWM is the governing body of the organization and is responsible for its finances and strategic planning. The Board is empowered to direct, control, and manage the center’s affairs and property subject to its by-laws.
It is a working board, so in addition to decisions about governance, Board members carry out vital functions of the center in cooperation with paid staff/consultants, the Teachers Council, and sangha members.
For more information about the roles and responsibilities of the Board as well as the application process, click here for the “Role Description and Nominating Process” document. The Board application can be found here.
Sangha Stewards: Ways to Engage
If you would like to speak with someone from the Board or staff about your ideas and have energy to lead, or want to learn more about existing volunteer opportunities, please reach out to us at: leadership@insightpv.org.
