SEEKING FEEDBACK ON FERRY FARE PROPOSAL
WETA, the agency that provides San Francisco Bay Ferry service, approved lower fares across all routes in 2021 as a part of its Pandemic Recovery Program. These fares are set to expire on June 30, 2022.

WETA is now considering extending the current lowered fares for an additional year through June 30, 2023. This would allow WETA to continue its analysis of the impact of lower fares on ridership, equity and access as the Bay Area’s economic recovery continues.

WETA is seeking feedback from passengers and the public on this proposal. There are four ways to provide your input:

REPORT HIGHLIGHTS FERRY RECOVERY, UPCOMING PROJECTS

WETA has released State of San Francisco Bay Ferry 2022, a report highlighting the agency’s accomplishments in 2021 and the outlook for the next year.

Highlights of the report include:

  • How WETA's Pandemic Recovery Program has increased ridership
  • Milestones reached in 2021
  • The financial outlook for WETA over the next two fiscal years
  • A list of key projects that will be at the forefront in 2022 including San Francisco Bay Ferry’s transition to zero emissions

The report can be found at weta.sanfranciscobayferry.com. Print copies will soon be available onboard ferries, as well.
FERRY CHATS PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY TO CONNECT ON YOUR RIDE

San Francisco Bay Ferry recently launched a new outreach effort to connect with riders. During Ferry Chats, staff from WETA ride normally scheduled San Francisco Bay Ferry departures to answer questions, receive feedback and give out ferry-themed schwag to passengers. WETA held its first Ferry Chat in late January on a morning South San Francisco departure.

The next two Ferry Chats have been scheduled, as well:

  •  Vallejo Route: Thursday, February 17, on the 4:35 p.m. northbound departure
  •  Alameda Seaplane Route: Wednesday, March 2 on the 5:30 p.m. eastbound departure

Staff set up near the bar on the main deck. Stop by to say hi and submit feedback for the fare program proposal and anything else you have to share.
