Recently, super producer Mark Bright let it be known that he is still searching for material to complete Carrie Underwood's next album. They will be recording this fall.
We will be presenting material on September 1st and we are willing to screen your material if submitted by August 22nd. Let me be very frank with you...if you are submitting to this opportunity, you are shooting at the "very top" of the industry.
Send your very best material. The quality of the demo is not nearly as important as the quality of the song. The song needs to be great. Be sure to include a lyric sheet with your submission, and be sure that the lead vocal track is out front in the mix on your demo.
If you have the goods, this could be a great opportunity for the right songwriter.

I'm seeking happy upbeat rhythmic songs for artist placement. Although "Walking On Sunshine" is the ultimately happy song, the horns and ska beats aren't what Im looking for. Something more in the lines of R&B. Think Pharrell's hit "Happy" or The Ting Tings "Thats Not My Name". Just because the lyrics are positive doesn't necessarily make it a fit.
