According to the bylaws of our Conference (Article XI), when a vacancy occurs in the office of Conference Minister, the Board shall establish and appoint a Search Committee that shall include persons reasonably representative of the Conference and suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the Committee.
Four members of the Board of Directors have been identified to serve as a selection committee: Danielle Bartz, Shelley Lindenfelser, Adam Blons, and Lauren Baske-Davis. This Selection Committee has been tasked with identifying the members for a search committee for the Settled Conference Minister. The Selection Committee cannot serve on the Search Committee. The Selection Committee will receive nominations from the entire Conference wanting to serve on this search committee.
The Selection Committee asks that you fill out this Google form nominating an individual you believe would be a qualified candidate to serve on the Search Committee. Self-nominations are not allowed.
The Search Committee will consist of 6-8 individuals and up to three alternates. With the Holy Spirit as an active participant, the Search Committee will prepare a MN Conference profile, review candidate profiles, conduct interviews, and negotiate salary and benefits. Once established, the Search Committee will be assisted by Diane Weible, Conference Minister Search Coordinator of the National Ministries of the United Church of Christ. The hope is to present a candidate to the 2025 Annual Meeting.
Nominations will close on Sunday, April 14, at 5:00 pm. The Selection Committee will bring the list of names of the Search Committee to the Board of Directors for approval with work beginning thereafter.
If you have any questions about the nomination form, please contact Danielle Bartz at danielle.bartz@gmail.com. If you have any questions about the Selection Committee process and the overarching search process, please contact Sara Morse, Moderator of the Board of Directors, at revsaramorse@hazelparkucc.org.
Thank you for your consideration. Please consider nominating someone for this important role.
With gratitude and hope,
Rev. Sara Morse, Moderator
