Efficiency Maine
teams up with Burgess
to help small businesses
see the light for savings
|
We're always gratified when a client from our history becomes a current event -- especially when their mission is to help small businesses in Maine save money by using less...well, current.
Efficiency Maine, which we worked with from 2007-11, returned last fall for help promoting their Small Business Initiative (SBI) in select areas, beginning with the region along Route 2 and northwards.

in successive areas as the geography expanded.

Qualifying small business electric customers can get help with the purchase and installation of energy-efficient LED lighting, which helps them save money, reduce their carbon footprint, and improve lighting inside and out.
In support of the effort, we created a variety of mailings, ads, web landing pages and case studies, and helped coordinate the complex rollout across several regions. The program has exceeded the client's goals,
and continues to attract new participants.

Efficiency Maine also has many other programs to help any sized business, throughout the state, save on electricity.

How
safe is your business from phishing, ransomware, and
other
online attacks?
|
Our client, ITS Inc., specializes in fortifying IT systems against attacks. But the biggest entry point for security breaches is actually people. ITS offers these important tips to share with all employees:
- Be careful opening emails from anyone you don't know-especially if there's an offer that seems too good to be true.
- Be suspicious of emails purportedly from a known source, but not characteristic of that source.
- Do not open any attachments you are not expecting. When in doubt, contact the sender to ask for more information about it, and if you don't get an answer that makes sense, delete it.
|
ITS also urges you to take three simple technical measures immediately:
- Update your operating system and all applications ASAP.
- Update your anti-virus software ASAP.
- Back up your data ASAP.
Visit ITSNE.com to learn more, or call ITS at

to discuss a plan for comprehensively safeguarding your systems-sooner rather than later!

Dear Clients & Friends,
Happy Summer! We hope you're finding time to enjoy the glorious weather we're having. We certainly are: three of us are training for the
10th Anniversary Tri for a Cure
(see article below), while others are taking days off here and there to garden, renovate property or just enjoy Maine's beautiful outdoors.
Nevertheless, we welcome a visit any time you're in the neighborhood of our new offices at 6 Fundy Road in Falmouth. We're completely settled in and loving our modern quarters, with plenty of parking and easy access to downtown Portland.
Have a safe and happy Fourth.

Three
women from Burgess will participate in all three legs of the historic 10th Tri for a Cure on July 23rd in South Portland:
Keva Crockett and Dana Rutherford, both attempting their second full Tri,
plus Meredith Strang Burgess, who has "run" every year as the last finisher.
We invite you to support any or all of them with a donation:
Burgess Advertising has been a sponsor since the inception of this event to benefit the Maine Cancer Foundation. In the first nine years, more than ten thousand women have participated, and the event has raised nearly $10 million to support cancer research, education, and care exclusively in Maine-100%.
