Summer Basketball
GVBL Summer League 2023 has arrived!!
 
Registration for summer league closed on Sunday and we have created waitlists for most divisions. We will be putting together rosters over the next several days with the hope of getting something posted by next week.

We will be holding "Open Gym" evaluations at the outdoor courts behind the GV high school next week for most divisions. See the Open Gym schedule below. At the same time, we will begin to create the schedule for the summer, which will be finalized no later than June 14th. The GVBL Summer League games will begin on June 19th. Thanks a ton for participating and we look forward to another great summer of basketball fun over the coming few months!
"Open Gym" Evaluation Schedule

All dates below will be held at the outdoor courts behind the GV High School

Players are encouraged but not required to attend
All fully registered players will be assigned to a team regardless of attendance.

Summer league schedules will be released by June 14th.
Games will begin the week of June 19th.

  • June 4th   - Last day for refunds
  • June 5th   - Wait List Opens, $25 late fee is added
  • June 7th   - Referee Clinic: Session I 
  • June 8th   - Referee Clinic: Session II 
  • June 15th - team assignments & schedules
  • June 19th - first week of games 
  • League ends 1st week of August.
  • Single elimination playoff for grades 3-HS

Games are Mon. - Thurs. evenings outdoors at GVHS, indoors at Phelps School Athletic Center and indoors at Grand Slam. There are no practices.

Boys HS league players must live in the Great Valley School District

Student Referee Clinics
Clinics will be held at the Great Valley High School Basketball Courts
Dates: Wednesday June 7th and Thursday June 8th
Time: Both will go from 6:00-6:45 PM
Where: Great Valley High School Basketball Courts

All student referees are required to attend one of the listed clinic times but not both. 
Coaches Needed
Can you spare some time?

  • No practices
  • Usually 1 game per week
  • Games are weeknights Mon-Thurs.
  • No refereeing duties

GVBL is a local community league designed to just let the kids come out and have some fun playing basketball. Please consider volunteering for the kids in our wonderful Great Valley community.

Tournament Team News
Girls in grades 4-8 as of Fall 2023 are invited to develop their basketball skills and knowledge in a fast-paced and fun environment with the GVHS Girls Varsity Basketball team members and coaches.

The camp promotes teamwork, sportsmanship and the power of a positive attitude.

Registration is open

Camp will be held June 19-22, 2023 from 1-4 PM at the Great Valley High School Main Gym. All campers will receive a free t-shirt.

Camp schedule:
1:00: Stations / fundamentals
2:10 Individual competitions
2:35 Team competitions
3:00 Team games
3:50 Camp meeting / daily wrap-up

Proceeds benefit the GVHS Girls Basketball Booster Club.
Summer & Fall Cheer
The Summer Cheer Conditioning Clinics are for ALL athletes who are interested in training and enhancing their strength in anticipation of the fall sports season.

There will be a focus on exercises and drills for strengthening muscles used for cheer as well as other athletics.
The clinics will be held on Sundays from 11-12pm and Tuesdays from 6-7pm at Sugartown Elementary. The program begins Tuesday June 20th and ends Sunday July 30th. There is no session on July 4th.

Fall Cheer for Gr. K-1
Flag football cheerleading is for athletes in K and 1st grade to get introduced to the cheerleading program GVCO has to offer. The athletes will learn cheers, dance and jumps. They will cheer during the flag football games and perform at half time to all fans. Register for Fall Cheer
Fall Cheer for Gr. 2-7

The Jr. Patriots Cheer Program combines sideline cheer for football and basketball with competitive cheer where the athletes will compete in competitions in the local area. The athletes will spend time on the fundamentals of stunting, learn a competition routine, condition, work on tumbling and learn cheers for football and basketball. Register for Fall Cheer
Tackle Football

Slots are still open for grades 2-4; grades 5 & 6 are full.

Flag Football
The season will begin in mid September until the 1st week in November. There will be a 1 hour weeknight practice and a 1 hour game at the GVCO Community Center Complex, 51 N. Bacton Hill Rd. Malvern.

The league is run internally with all GVFL teams playing each other. Teams are smaller so that all players participate.

Caring Hands
We will once again be partnering with a fabulous local community partner, The French and Pickering Creeks Conservation Trust. The Trust will be hosting its 21st Annual Iron Tour bicycle rally on June 11th.


We are looking for GVCO Caring Hands volunteers to dedicate some time as the Iron Tour is looking for numerous volunteers on multiple dates. To learn more go to French & Pickering Creeks Conservation Trust Iron Tour.
