We want to bring your attention to two important updates:
Reimbursement Update
OPWDD has clarified the “Date of Service” for Individual Directed Goods and Services (IDGS) and Other Than Personal Services (OTPS). Consequently, this means, the "date of service" is not when an IDGS/OTPS reimbursement request is submitted, but rather when the FI (Springbrook) pays the reimbursement.
What does this update mean for you? Much like a tax year, your budget operates on a fiscal year that closes annually, holding expenses inside each year separately. This means that if the date the reimbursement is paid by Springbrook falls in the new budget year, the expense will be reflected in the new budget, potentially leaving services dollars from the previous budget unspent. Please consider this carefully and work with your team to plan for use of IDGS and OTPS, submitting reimbursement requests to capture the budget dollars intentionally.
