Deis Denim Day
Wednesday, April 27 2022,
11am-2pm
Blue Booths in Fellows Garden

Denim Day is a movement to raise awareness for those impacted by sexual violence. It began when the Italian Supreme Court overturned a rape conviction because the defendant was wearing tight jeans, implying she must have helped take them off. In the following days, women in the Italian Parliament and around the world wore denim in protest of victim blaming and rape culture.

Join us in wearing denim to stand in solidarity.

Share your photos of you in your denim with #DeisDenimDay and tag @brandeis_parc to be featured and entered in a giveaway.

Stop by the Blue Booths from 11am-2pm for giveaway items and a photo booth.
Featured Topics
Mask-Wearing, Indoors
While mask restrictions have been lifted in many settings, Brandeis strongly recommends wearing masks in many indoor settings, including large gatherings and events. While risk of infection is low for those fully vaccinated, masks offer another layer of protection against COVID-19, especially in indoor settings where there is higher risk of transmission. Surgical masks or KN95 or KF94 respirators are recommended.

Cannabis Use: Information & Safety Strategies
With 4/20 fast-approaching, it is important to revisit important information about cannabis safety.

According to the National College Health Assessment*, 68% of Brandeis undergraduate students do not use cannabis, and 73% of Brandeis graduate students do not use cannabis.

Because Brandeis receives federal funding, Brandeis must abide by federal law, which means that cannabis is not allowed on campus.

If you choose to use cannabis, there are ways to minimize risks.
  • Take breaks from using to reduce your tolerance.
  • Avoid products with high concentrations of THC.
  • Use a designated driver.
  • Take care of your mental health and wellbeing. Reach out to the BCC or a trusted individual if cannabis starts to impact your social life and academics.

*The National College Health Assessment was last administered in fall 2020. Students reported cannabis use in the last 3 months, which is predictive of a person's typical use.
