Class lists will also be posted by 7:00 pm on the same day on the Selwyn Elementary website . Selwyn staff will also have lists inside the main doors on Thursday, August 23 during Meet Your Teacher.
Kindergarten Staggered Entry
Kindergartners begin school on a staggered schedule to allow teachers to spend extra time helping students get oriented and learn new routines. Each Kindergartner will attend only one of the first four days of school according to the schedule below.

Last Names A-F: Monday, 8/27
Last Names G-L: Tuesday, 8/28
Last Names M-R: Wednesday, 8/29
Last Names S-Z: Thursday, 8/30

ALL - FRIDAY, 8/31

Please contact the school if you have childcare issues for the three days your Kindergartner is not scheduled to attend.
Kindergarten Parent Coffee
Wrap up the first full week of Kindergarten on Friday, September 7 , from 8-9 am with an informal coffee for Selwyn kindergarten parents. Sip and mingle with fellow parents, members of the Selwyn PTA Board of Directors, and Selwyn Administration. It is a great opportunity to ask questions, gain clarity, and build new relationships.
Has your student attended a Kindergarten Entry Profile (KEP) Session?
The KEP allows teachers to meet with students in small groups to assess each child prior to the start of the school year. The KEP will be used for the purposes of class placement and team planning.

If your student has not attended a KEP session, please sign up for a slot on Wednesday, August 15 .
Red Ribbon Reading (RRR)
Se l wyn's Red Ribbon Reading program promotes summer reading by all Selwyn students, including rising kindergartners. The funds raised from RRR directly fund the PTA Operating Budget used for field trips, professional development for teachers, valuable student experiences, events, and more.
