CUCC Family,

We hope this email finds you well. As we begin a new year, we are glad to invite you to CUCC’s Semi-Annual Congregational Meeting on January 29 at 10:30 AM.  At the meeting, you will receive an update from the Personnel, Operations, Mission and Justice Funds, and Finance committees. Additionally, you will be invited to vote on the 2023 operating budget. There will be activities and childcare for children of all ages, as we need everyone, everyone, EVERYONE to participate in this meeting.

It should be noted that the budget will impact our ongoing Associate Pastor search. In fact, Tony Giamberdino (Council Chairperson 2022/23) has written a letter discussing the importance of this meeting and its potential impact on the life of the Church.

Below you will find an excerpt of our bylaws describing our “Congregational Meetings", as well as all relevant Committee reports and financial documents. Please spend time before the meeting reviewing these documents, as we will not have time to discuss every piece of it together. If you'd like a hard copy, you are welcome to stop by the church office during business hours. We will have copies available on the 29th prior to the meeting.

We look forward to the upcoming meeting and the opportunity to talk about the Church that we all love dearly.

Sincerely,

Church Council

ARTICLE VII MEETINGS

A. Semi-Annual Congregational Meetings: The Church will hold two meetings annually to discuss the business of the Church. These meetings will include key topics such as annual budgets, nominations for Council and committee leaders and amendments to the Bylaws. Meetings are expected to occur in January and June each year; however, the exact dates for these meetings are determined by the Church Council and coordinated by the Chairperson. For both meetings, official notice will be delivered 14 days prior to meeting in writing, which includes electronic notification, and announced at least two times prior to the meeting. In addition, copies of any reports will be made available to the membership of the Church at the meeting and seven days prior to the meeting.

1. January Congregational Meeting: The primary focus of this meeting will be the annual budget. To prepare for the meeting, Church Council and staff will hold a workshop in October to plan for the upcoming budget year. In this workshop, Pastors, staff and committees will come together to share goals and strategies for the upcoming budget year. Church Council will incorporate the goals and strategies from this workshop into both a written report and an annual budget. Both documents will be presented to the congregation.

2. June Congregational Meeting: The primary focus of this meeting will be voting on the members of the Church selected through the nominating process to serve in the vacant Church Council and committee roles for the upcoming Church year. In addition, the Officers of the Church Council, staff and committee members will present annual program reports to the congregation.
