Rock Lake Student Receives Letter from Soldier
A month ago, The Beta Club at Rock Lake Middle School wrote letters to troops overseas. One student received a letter back. Eighth grader, Cora Cummings, received a letter from Captain Reniker, who is stationed in the Arab Emirates. He received Cora's letter and was so touched by it that he sent her a handwritten note in response, along with a medallion of excellence.
We love the many ways our students across Seminole County demonstrate kindness for others.

Eastbrook Elementary School Spotlights Dual Language Program
On May 2nd, 2023, Eastbrook Elementary celebrated the success of its first Dual Language and Spanish Club program with a spectacular performance. For the first time during the school year, Eastbrook introduced the Dual Language and Spanish Club as part of its efforts to promote language acquisition and cultural diversity. The program was met with enthusiastic participation from students and parents alike, and the result was a stunning performance that showcased the talents and skills of the young students.
The Dual Language Program and the Spanish Club were an idea that the school and teachers had been planning for some time. The teachers wanted to create a program that would expose our students to new cultures and languages and help them develop new skills. The performance featured the kindergarten and Spanish Club students singing classic nursery rhymes in Spanish with passion and energy. The audience was captivated by the students' performances and the vibrancy of the Spanish culture.
The event was a true celebration of the school's commitment to promoting language acquisition and cultural diversity. The Dual Language Program has been a tremendous success in its first year, and the school looks forward to continuing the program in the future. We believe that language acquisition is an essential skill for success in our increasingly globalized world. The Dual Language Program and the Spanish Club are just one of the many ways we are working to provide our students with the tools they need to succeed in life. The evening was a resounding success, with parents and educators praising the young students' hard work and dedication.
