Hamilton Elementary's Innovative Gardening Project
Second graders at Hamilton Elementary School of Engineering and Technology have been busy in the garden! Over the past four weeks, students planted purple radish seeds and diligently watered them, eagerly watching their plants grow. The hard work paid off with a delightful taste test of their very own Hamilton-grown produce!
Thank you to Hamilton Elementary PTA for their support, and a special shoutout to Mrs. Thomas for her green thumb! Go Robots!

Layer Elementary Students Learn About Healthy Hands
The Healthy Hands program visited Layer Elementary's Pre-K, VPK, Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade classes this week! This innovative and fun program helps students discover proper hand hygiene using "Magic lotion" that represents germs and then putting their hands into the “glitter bug” machine to see how germs are present.
The Healthy Hands program was designed to teach our young students the importance of proper handwashing and techniques for cleaning their hands. A huge thank you goes out to our amazing volunteers who make this program possible. Your dedication and hard work are truly appreciated!
Let’s keep those hands clean and healthy, Lynx!

Wekiva Elementary's Lunar Lollipop Lab
Fourth-grade students at Wekiva Elementary recently embarked on an exciting journey through space with the Lunar Lollipop Lab! Using a model, they explored and understood the moon’s rotation and movement pattern, bringing the wonders of our solar system right into the classroom.
We are thrilled to see students enthusiastically participating in learning and their eagerness to explore the universe. Stay tuned for more stellar adventures from our budding scientists! Go Koala's!

Highlands Elementary Educator Nominated as a Spectrum A+ Teacher
Ms. Marci Gould, a teacher at Highlands Elementary, was recently recognized on Spectrum News 13 for encouraging her students to have discussions with their peers during lessons. She says "Discussion is amazing because it allows us to relate to one another and to connect to one another. To me, our students are our young leaders, and I need to hear what they’re thinking. So, discussion is a huge part of what I do in my classroom.
Ms. Gould teaches at the fifth-grade level. She said there is something special about this grade of students. “They make me think every day, which is the reason why I love this age group. Also, is that they teach me maybe sometimes more about myself and the way I conduct myself as a human being? It’s always evolving and changing, just like it is for them. I love that. The expectations are high, and if you raise those expectations, they will reach them. They will definitely reach them.”
Ms. Gould’s love for educating young minds is truly outstanding! SCPS Thanks you for your passion and encouragement, which makes a significant difference in our students’ lives. Watch Ms. Gould's Spectrum News Interview!
