Longwood Elementary Hosts Literacy Night
Longwood Elementary School hosted their literacy night titled:
Literacy Night at Longwood Elementary: The Happiest School on Earth!
| |
|
Students were invited to wear their most magical outfits and enjoy fun literacy activities like fairy tale writing, a theme park escape room, word games, and more. Families learned how to support reading at home and in school through these engaging activities. The event was hosted by Alicia Martinez, the School Administration Manager, and 3rd Grade Teacher Gabby Labow supported by many other staff members. Way to go, Lions! That's bringing literacy and learning to life.
SCPS Hosts Annual Foreign Exchange Student Welcome Reception
Each year, our ESOL/World Languages Department hosts a welcome reception for our exchange students attending Seminole County Public Schools. The Superintendent, School Board Members, and SCPS Leadership have an opportunity to share important information about school in Seminole County, and then the students each share about their country and their experiences.
It's always wonderful to hear so many perspectives from all around the world. We are excited to have our exchange students spend time with us as we learn from one another.

Lake Mary High Hosts College and Career Fair
Lake Mary High School hosted a College and Career Fair as part of their ongoing effort to help our students establish their "E" (enrollment, employment, enlistment). The fair included college reps from Florida and beyond (The Florida College Tour), firefighters, sheriff's deputies, police, emergency responders, and recruiters from every branch of the military (Informed by the Uniform). School counselors were also available to speak with students and answer questions. The representatives set up tables, distributed information, and spoke with students about their post-secondary goals. This fair was open to all LMHS students, grades 9-12. A special thank you to counselor Gayle Mitchell who planned this event!
