NEW! Parent Survey Coming Next Week

SCPS will be launching our brand-new parent survey on Monday, April 15th. We want to know how we can better serve our families. This brief survey will take roughly 10 minutes to complete.

What's Cool in Our Schools

Sanford Middle School Students Experience "Living on My Own"

Thank you to students, teachers and administrators at Sanford Middle School who participated in “Living on My Own” this week! This financial literacy program will lead to lots of conversations about education and training, job or career choices, spending decisions, and budgets. Special thanks to our fantastic Dividend volunteers and Addition Financial Credit Union for your participation in bringing this awesome program to our students!

SCPS Students Experience Science Through the Eclipse

Students from all across our district experienced unique lessons centered on the eclipse. Just imagine, the next eclipse is twenty years from now, and we sure hope they each remember their last experience from 2024.

Family Leadership Institute

The ESOL Family Leadership Institute recently hosted an event at our district office where ESOL families worked with the ESOL/World Languages Department on preparing their child for the path to a successful future with College and Career Readiness information.

The goal of this event is to provide our families with information about the knowledge and skills needed for their child to be successful in post-secondary education and/or readiness to enter their career of choice.

Carillon Elementary Students Create Biome World

5th graders at Carillon Elementary had a great time creating their Habitat/Biome and celebrated the end of this unit of study with a Biome in a box gallery walk. Great job to all the students and staff. These are the types of engaging, hands-on projects that our students get to be a part of. This is another example of why we have earned the nickname #STEMinoleCounty!

Seminole High Student Deemed a Hero

Story courtesy of FOX 35

16-year-old Seminole High School student Alexis Falcon had just gotten home from school when he saw his neighbor's home on fire. He ran under a downed power line, broke through a fence and a window to save James Antonietta’s two dogs.

Alexis then hosed down the flames as best he could before fire crews arrived.

Florida Prepaid College Plan Enrollment Window Closing Soon

Florida Prepaid Plans are made to fit growing families:

  • Risk-free: Your investment is protected by the State of Florida.
