Bentley Elementary School Goes Batty...Again
Students and staff at Bentley Elementary got into the spirit of the season with their theme "Bentley Goes Batty." Hallways were lined with all things bat from facts to fun stories.
The staff took learning to new heights as they learned all about bats and incorporated this theme into their English Language Arts, Science, Math, Art, and more! We love seeing the incredible creativity of our schools and igniting that love for learning through innovative teaching and lessons.

Millennium Middle School Host Special Guest
Millennium Middle School had a fantastic visit from Ms. McConico, their school counselor. Students learned that Ms. McConico also serves as an MA2 Master-at-Arms in the U.S. Navy Military Police.
She shared her experiences in law enforcement, security, and anti-terrorism operations, giving our students a unique look into the responsibilities of a Master-at-Arms. From patrolling naval installations to investigating crimes and training personnel in self-defense, Ms. McConico’s role is all about protecting and serving. Her dual role as a school counselor and Navy professional truly inspired students to and encouraged the exploration of their possibilities for their future!
Thank you, Ms. McConico, for your service and for being such an incredible role model for our students!

Milwee Middle School Student is a Promising Scientist
Steven Goodman, an 8th Grade student at Milwee Middle School, recently entered into the 3M Young Scientists Challenge. Steven created an algorithm that can achieve a more accurate prediction of future plant growth and advance agricultural production. When asked where Goodman sees himself in 15 years, his answer was, "A botanist applying computational biology to help improve living conditions worldwide. Being able to combine my passion for biological systems with the excitement of mathematics would be a dream come true. Ultimately, I want to use computational biology to leave a positive impact on the world."
SCPS is proud of student innovators like Steven who are stepping outside of the box and making a positive impact in the world around us. Congratulations Steven!
