What's Cool in Our Schools

Seminole High Students Come Together for a Campus Beautification

We are incredibly proud of the Seminole High School students who recently volunteered their time and energy to clean up their campus. This initiative not only beautified the school grounds, but also fostered a sense of community and responsibility among the students.

Their dedication and hard work are a testament to the values we strive to instill in our students. Thank you to all the volunteers for making a positive impact on our school environment!

Hamilton Elementary Hosts "Macy's Thanksgiving Parade Floats"

First-grade innovators at Hamilton Elementary School of Engineering and Technology put their STEM skills to the test to create their very own floats for a school parade.

SCPS Students Join Forces with OCPS Students to Explore Future as Veterinarians

Disney’s Animal Kingdom recently hosted the Critter Fixers, Dr. Terrence Ferguson and Dr. Vernard Hodges for their CF Vet for a Day program.

This hands-on experience gave aspiring young veterinarians a chance to dive into the world of veterinary medicine, learning about animal care from Disney’s skilled animal care teams! The day was filled with activities, insightful discussions, and unforgettable memories. These future veterinarians are one step closer to their dreams thanks to this amazing experience!

In the Spotlight

Winter Springs Elementary School Students Perform at Orlando Magic Game

Our talented students from Winter Springs Elementary had the incredible opportunity to perform the National Anthem at a recent Orlando Magic game. Their spirited rendition of the national anthem captivated the audience, showcasing their hard work and dedication. SCPS is very proud of our young performers. Go Kangaroos!

Lyman High Students Compete in Auto Show

This past weekend, senior Lyman automotive students competed in the Central Florida International Auto Show at the Orange County Convention. It was a very tough competition.

Alex Brooks finished 4th, Andrew Mignone finished 5th, and Tyler Counce finished 6th out of fifty students from around Central Florida.

We are so proud of you!

AdventHealth Altamonte Unveils Newly Refurbished Physics Bus

This summer, AdventHealth partnered with our district and the Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools on a commitment to ensure the Mechanics Physics Bus can continue to inspire students for years to come. AdventHealth became the Presenting Sponsor of the Mechanics Physics Bus. The Physics Bus Program travels to each elementary school to provide hands-on STEM experiences for 4th and 5th-grade students. AdventHealth’s investment is a testament to their dedication to education and bringing hands-on learning experiences to our students. Nicole Crocker, vice president and chief nursing officer at AdventHealth Altamonte Springs, Lake Mary & Oviedo, shared:

“AdventHealth is proud to expand our partnership with Seminole County Public Schools and the Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools to inspire and prepare students to pursue careers in STEM. We are investing today for the workforce of tomorrow. We’re hopeful our efforts will encourage future physicians, nurses, clinicians, and health care leaders to pursue a mission-filled career in health care.”

This partnership highlights the crucial role that local organizations play in supporting educational initiatives, ultimately paving the way for a skilled workforce that meets the demands of our community. Thank you, AdventHealth!

The SCPS Giving Tree Needs Your Help
