SCPS Summer Send-Off

Rising Kindergartners

As we wind down this school year, our leaders in elementary, middle and high school education have a few words of wisdom to share with rising Kindergartners, rising Middle school students, and rising High school students. They will share tips for parents and students to prepare for the next grade and help students know what to expect on their educational journey.

What's Cool in Our Schools

UCF Athletes Read to Primary Students at Carillon Elementary

Carillon Elementary School and UCF have been working together in a partnership with Chic-fil-A to have athletes come to read and speak with students. Students at Carillon love to hear athletes from all different sports talk about college life and the sports they play.

Math Lesson Undergoes Construction!

Mrs. Dubose’s 4th grade math classes at Bentley Elementary were working on perimeter and area in a “construction site."

We love seeing all of the innovative ways our teachers bring lessons to life for students!

Markham Woods Middle School Biomechatronics Program of Exploration

Biomechatronics, a Program of Exploration offered only at Markham Woods Middle School, provides students with a unique introduction to the interdisciplinary study of anatomy, physiology, electronics, robotics, and computer programming through research and collaboration.

Students learn about career options in the field, ethics of biomechatronic research and development, and the biomechatronic design process. Students in this course are required to complete a final project presented to a panel of judges that determines the funding the course will receive to complete their project specifications.
