News Brief: Two New Buildings and the Semiquincentennial

Informed by ongoing archaeology and 18th-century building techniques, Ferry Farm's landscape continues to expand in the form of two nearly complete buildings: The Quarter and the Cellar House. The Quarter is a replica structure of a building that housed enslaved individuals, and the Cellar House is a replica of a building that would have preserved food for the Farm. Read about them in our most recent Lives & Legacies blogs.

In 2026, The United States of America will celebrate its semiquincentennial, the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Events are being planned at the state and local levels across the country. Leaders are seeking feedback via this survey on commemoration events.
