Speaker Bio: Kelly Hancock represents District 9 in the Texas Senate, which now covers most of Tarrant County. He previously served three terms in the Texas House of Representatives and 13 years on the Birdville ISD school board. Throughout his time in public service, Kelly has shown strong leadership advocating for core conservative values of limited government, lower taxes, and family values.

As an entrepreneur and business owner, Kelly has extensive experience in the public and private sectors alike. He understands what it takes to keep the Texas economy on an upward trajectory. After five years of record job growth at the helm of the Senate Business & Commerce Committee, Kelly now serves as Chairman of the Veteran Affairs Committee. He also sits on the Natural Resources & Economic Development Committee, the budget-writing Finance Committee, the Transportation Committee, the Health & Human Services Committee and the Special Committee on Redistricting in addition to serving as Vice Chair of the Water, Agriculture & Rural Affairs Committee.

Kelly and his wife, Robin, are both graduates of Richland High School and Baylor University. They have been happily married for 36 years and have three adult children, who are all married now; Chloe (Greg) Cox, Skylar (Aaron) Frederick, and Harrison (Parker) Hancock. The Hancocks are the proud grandparents of four tiny Texans, two boys and two girls, with their fifth grandchild due later this year.

Friends of TCRA,

As we enter the final quarter of 2024, I wanted to share a few important items regarding our remaining meetings and upcoming Endorsing Convention.

1) No TCRA Meeting in November.

2) Save the Date: December 10!

Our TCRA Christmas Party will be held Sunday, December 10, from 6pm-8:30pm. Details will be available soon.

3) Now is the time...

to renew your TCRA Membership Dues for 2024

Dues are $30/person or $50/couple.

4) The 2024 TCRA Endorsing Convention will be held in January (date TBA). The Endorsing Convention showcases the Republican candidates who are running for office in Tarrant County. TCRA members can VOTE for their favorite candidates. Candidates who reach the 2/3 threshold of votes earn the coveted TCRA Endorsement.

5) To vote in the Endorsing Convention, you must be a TCRA member in good standing (current on 2023 and 2024 dues) for at least sixty (60) days prior to the Endorsing Convention.

If you still owe dues for 2023 (we have a list if you aren't sure), don't despair. You may pay for 2023 and 2024 in one lump sum before the November deadline, via cash, check, or CC.

New members may join anytime before the deadline, and are not subject to paying 2023 dues.

5) Support TCRA in a bigger way!

Become a $100 Sustaining Member!

6) We want to hear from you! If you have ideas for programs or speakers you'd like to see, click here to drop us a line.

We appreciate your membership and continued participation in the Assembly!

See you Tuesday, October 17!
