Senate Bill Passes!

Success! Tonight the Senate Commerce and Labor Committee voted unanimously to report SB1238/SB1436 out of Committee! If you have been tracking SB1238, Senator Durant's bill, you should know that today her bill was rolled into SB1436 from Senator Perry, but it is the exact same bill. So, moving forward our bill number is SB1436 with Senator Perry as patron and Senator Durant as chief co-patron. We are grateful for their bipartisan leadership on this important bill.

The Senate works slightly differently than the House so we will be finding out what happens next very soon and will keep you posted.

We know that the outreach and hard work VBCF advocates have put into this legislation has made all the difference in the world! THANK YOU!!

Background

HB1828/SB1436 will eliminate the high out-of-pocket costs (co-pays, co-insurance or deductibles) that many patients face when getting follow-up diagnostic or supplemental breast imaging, including diagnostic mammography, ultrasound, and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging).
