OPWDD New Consensus Regulation
Below please find a link to a new proposed consensus regulation, “Reportable Incidents”. This regulation is being proposed in order to coincide with existing law. Currently, the Cannabis law under article 3 allows for the administration of medical cannabis by custodians to service recipients covered by 14 NYCRR Section 624.3. This amendment will clarify that service recipients are allowed to receive medical cannabis provided other regulations are followed under the Cannabis Law.
Below please find links to two new emergency proposed regulations, “General Purpose” and “Certification of the Facility Class Known as Individualized Residential Alternative”. These regulations allow for an increase in IRA capacity in cases of emergent circumstances and upon approval of the Commissioner. Please note, OPWDD is currently developing a standardized process for expanding IRA capacity and agencies should reach out to their Regional Office to discuss further.
Justice Center offering Professional Boundaries training
The Justice Center is offering an online course to support the use of professional boundaries in the provision of care at provider agencies.
