MIC and the Mableton Cityhood Conversation

Many residents have been commenting on our social media pages about the proposed Mableton cityhood. The opinions and comments have been numerous and varied. There have been inquiries about the position of the Mableton Improvement Coalition (MIC) on the subject.

MIC's position has been consistent since the inception of the cityhood movement years ago. We have maintained a neutral position and continue to do so today. We feel that the residents of Mableton should decide the future of Mableton. Our role is to provide as much information as possible as it becomes become available.

It now appears that the cityhood referendum will appear on the election ballot in November this year.

The movement is being spearheaded by the South Cobb Alliance (SCA). SCA has been at the forefront since the movement first surfaced several years ago.

Congratulations to Cobb County Manager Dr. Jackie McMorris, who has been named the 2022 LiveSafe Resources “Woman of the Year.” Dr. McMorris’ selection came during the 37th annual Tribute to Women of Achievement event.

29th Annual Cobb Eggstravaganza

Cobb County PARKS presents the 29^th Annual Cobb Eggstravaganza. Bring the family for a day of fun with Easter Egg Hunts for ages 10 and under. There will be food, games, bouncy houses, prizes and more! The event will be held on Saturday, April 9 at Al Bishop Softball Complex, located at 1082 Al Bishop Drive, Marietta, GA. The gates will open at 12pm with the following hunt times:

3 years old & under 1 p.m.

4 & 5 year olds 1:30 p.m.

6 & 7 year olds 2 p.m.

8-10 year olds 2:30 p.m.

All ages 3 p.m.
