MSPLOST voter information

Cobb County has launched a new webpage to inform voters about the Mobility Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax referendum, which will be on the ballot during the General Election on Nov. 5.

The website, cobbcounty.org/msplost, provides detailed information about the MSPLOST program, including the ballot language and the potential impacts on the community.

The MSPLOST program aims to address Cobb County's growing population and economy by enhancing the public transportation system to be safer, more flexible, and more reliable. If approved by voters, the one-cent sales tax will provide dedicated funding for operational improvements and service expansion.

Help Name the New Community Center

We are making significant progress toward the highly anticipated opening of the new recreation center in the Milford-Osborne community.

Construction began earlier this year and the final steel beam was recently installed. At a recent community meeting to reveal the design, we invited residents to suggest name ideas for the new center by Sept. 13.

Now it's your turn to vote.

Credit for septic tank maintenance

Cobb and Douglas Public Health, using an American Rescue Plan Act grant, will provide a one-time water bill credit of up to $250 to primary Cobb homeowners who get their septic tanks pumped.

Homeowners who participate in the program will receive a credit of up to $250, based on the actual cost of service, after having their septic tank pumped by a state-approved provider. Eligible services must be completed by Sept. 30, 2026 or until grant funds are exhausted, whichever comes first.

This initiative aims to encourage regular septic tank maintenance, preventing system failures, protecting water quality, and ensuring a cleaner, healthier environment for all.
