This virtual meeting lets instructors receive answers to all questions about Canvas and other ISU centrally-supported technologies.


Cyndi Wiley, PhD, Digital Accessibility Lead, will preview Ally, a powerful Canvas integration that provides guidance to instructors on best practices to enhance the usability and accessibility of Canvas courses and course documents. Ally automatically checks course content and files for common accessibility issues and provides feedback on how to proactively address these issues and improve your course quality and materials for all students.


Additionally, the CELT team will share the latest updates on the New Quizzes timeline and when/what you might expect in the next update. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn more about Iowa State Online and the changes coming to the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching.

CELT Event Coordinator III Position Open


This position will provide support for faculty professional development initiatives offered by CELT. Responsibilities include logistical coordination, scheduling, and planning of faculty professional development programs and events. The Event Coordinator III is part of the Instructor Development team and is included in the programming sessions and provides input for many of these CELT initiatives.

CELT's Miller Faculty Fellowship Program

Deadline is Approaching Fast!


The Miller Faculty Fellowship, made possible by the generosity of F. Wendell Miller, is a competitive grant program supported by the President's Office, Office of the Senior Vice President and Provost and administered through CELT, that supports faculty members to "enhance their scholarly work in the university's undergraduate academic programs and develop innovative approaches to enhance student learning."


CELT is now accepting proposals for 2023-2024 Miller Faculty Fellowships with the deadline of Monday, December 12, 2022


Funding for 2023-2024 will include three categories of grants: 


  • Requests up to $5000 
  • Requests up to $15,000 
  • Requests up to $25,000


For over 25 years, the Miller Fellowship Program has funded nearly $5 million dollars worth of projects for over 250 faculty within each university's colleges. Previous Miller Faculty Fellows note that the funding improved their undergraduate teaching and furthered their professional development with proof of concept seed funding for external grants and opportunities to present and publish their work.
