FCA Action Alert

Today, please send thank you emails to Chairs Jay Trumbull and Travis Hutson for their leadership and support to restore funding to higher levels than this current year for the Florida Department of State Division of Cultural Affairs Matching Grants' Programs.

As reported to you this morning, the TED/TAT budget conference agreed on the following appropriation recommendations to fund  the Florida Department of State (DOS) Division of Cultural Affairs (DCA) Matching Grants' Programs.  Again, please note that these are not the final numbers in the budget, but a step in the process:

●   $2,980,028 to fully fund all 132 Culture Builds Florida Matching Grants

●
$12,300,000 for  Cultural and Museum Matching Grants (would provide approximately 29% of each of the 478 recommended grant amounts)

●
$5,970,000 for  Cultural Facilities Matching Grants (would fund first 18 on ranked list and partially fund #19)

Email Chairs Jay Trumbull and Travis Hutson today to thank them for their leadership and support to restore Florida's investment in these DOS DCA matching grants' programs.  Be positive and appreciative and please do not request any additional dollars from them in your email.  Today, we all need to demonstrate appreciation.

Chair Jay Trumbull's email: Jay.Trumbull@myfloridahouse.gov
Chair Travis Hutson's email:  Hutson.Travis@flsenate.gov

After this year's legislative session, we'll send thank you letters to all of our legislators; but today, please send these two thank you emails.

Tomorrow, April 25, we'll send you a suggested email to edit and personalize to send to House and Senate leadership to politely request their support to bump up, if possible, the appropriation for the Cultural and Museum Matching Grants (budget line item 3201) to fund a higher percentage for each of the 478 qualified matching grants under this category.  The current recommendation of $12.3 million will fund about 29% of each of these 478 qualified, recommended grant amounts.

Please pay attention for this alert tomorrow and follow through in a timely manner.

Thank you so much for your
continued advocacy efforts.
