New Request to Help Ukraine
Ukraine Shipment No. 4 Out Today
Needs Remain High - You Can Help!
We are grateful for your generous gifts of time, talents and financial resources as we continue to help the people of Ukraine. The journey they have before them is a long and arduous one. Today Operations Manager Brad Walton and Operations Specialist Ramon Ortiz loaded a 53-ft. semi trailer with a plethora of supplies and rice meal bags.

The request came from North Star Foundation, Cranston, RI. Brad said this shipment will be combined with others coming into North Star to fill three containers in total...all going to Ukraine.

The portion from Midwest Mission includes items from several of our partners. The St. Louis VA Medical Center-Jefferson Barracks provided 13,680 cases of BD catheter sets, 123,000 exam gloves, 3,050 patient gowns, 48,000 masks, 768 sterilization wraps, and 1,227 fingertip pulse oximeters. The Illinois Baptist Association gifted 480,000 food service gloves, 2,940 bottles of hand soap, and 3,324 baby wipes. Hello Products donated 40,096 toothpaste tablets. The Iowa Conference provided much needed pairs of fireman's boots and the Northern Illinois Conference provided blankets.

Plus,9,600 rice meals were included! Thank you!!

Welcome Oyindamola Ruth Olawepo
We are excited to welcome Oyindamola Ruth Olawepo to Midwest Mission as this semester's communications intern. She calls Nigeria home and came to the U.S. in August of 2019.

Oyindamola, 27, holds a master's degree in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations and Comparative Politics. Her second master's degree is in Communications. She pursued her education at Western Illinois University in Macomb.

Currently, she is fulfilling the final components of her master's in communications degree. "The internship is part of my master's thesis. This opportunity came about in a God moment when I was on campus for ERT (Emergency Response Training) with my college advisor and fellow students earlier this year. Chantel asked each of us our major, and when I said 'Communications,' we began a conversation that led me to this role. All God's timing."

"We are fortunate to have Oyindamola at Midwest Mission," says Executive Director, Chantel Corrie. "She brings a fresh perspective and strong skill set that aligns with our mission and goals. Her contributions to the team are already making an impact."

Oyindamola's long-term goal is to become an international ambassador (diplomacy and representation). She can be reached at ORO@midwestmission.org.
Volunteer Spotlight
Robert and Sandi Jester
Meet Robert and Sandi Jester. They were on campus this week representing Batesville United Methodist Church, Batesville, IN. This is their fourth year to serve.

We volunteer at Midwest Mission because:
"Midwest Mission offers a great opportunity to do hands-on work that then helps others throughout the world. It's easy to see how our efforts are directly helping others. It's fun to do this with other volunteers and meet people from other states - everyone has a story. The organization is run by friendly, caring, well-organized people who are mission focused and channeling God's work."

My Favorite thing to do at Midwest Mission is:
"We have had the opportunity to do many tasks; building school desks, putting together Birthing Kits, Student Kits and Personal Dignity Kits (PDKs), and we filled buckets for Home Care Kits. We have also spent a lot of time organizing donations and verifying kits for accuracy. All were enjoyable, but the opportunity to move around and take part in different tasks as needed keeps it interesting."

Thank you, Robert and Sandi, for your service to Midwest Mission!
PRAYERS to LIFT UP

Please continue to pray for the needs of those in the middle of war in Ukraine.
Send prayers for their protection, their strength and for them to see you.

"You, Lord, give perfect peace to those who keep their purpose firm
and put their trust in you."
Isaiah 26:3
