| Training Course in MCH Epi |

The Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and CityMatCH are offering a Training Course in MCH Epidemiology from June 6-10 in San Diego, CA.
This year's course is geared towards state and local health professionals with intermediate to advanced skills in statistical and epidemiologic methods. Content for the course will include: Needs Assessment, Multivariable Regression Methods, Economic Evaluation, and more.

Online Data Query Tool Now Available for Title V National Outcome and Performance Measures, NHIS Data Query Tool Adds State and Area Level Findings!
|
Many of the new Title V National Performance Measures (NPMs) and National Outcome Measures (NOMs) use data from the National Survey of Children's Health (NSHC) and National Survey of Children With Special Health Care Needs (NS-CSHCN). In order to make it easier for states to access and interactively explore and compare NOM and NPM data findings from the National Survey of Children's Health (NSCH) and the National Survey of Children with Special Health Care Needs (NS-CSHCN), the CAHMI has made the data available in a special section of the DRC's interactive data query highlighting these Title V Block Grant measures.
The data for the measures are available by state and by numerous subgroups, including those required for the Block Grant, and will be updated as future NSCH and NS-CSHCN data becomes available. More educational materials are also available.
In addition, we have added state- and census division-level data from the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) to the existing NHIS data on the DRC data query. Four years of survey data (2010-2013) were combined in order to provide valid state subgroup data. At the national level, the child and family health indicators can also now be stratified by Metropolitan Statistical Area and Rural-Urban Commuting Area.

has been cancelled due to the blizzard conditions that occurred in Washington, DC over the weekend. If they are able to reschedule the conference at a later date, we will let you know about our booth number and planned workshop

Spanish Translation of Well Visit Planner Toolkit
|
This past spring, CAHMI partnered with Family Voices to create a toolkit to assist families and family advocates in the use of the Well Visit Planner (WVP) (see our August 2015 newsletter for more information). Spanish translations of most of the documents, including the newsletter, FAQs, flyer, and some of the videos are now available. We hope that this will expand the number of families and young children who are able to benefit from using the WVP!

| Welcome Dr. Michele Solloway to Baltimore |
| Long-time CAHMI collaborator and remote staff member Michele Solloway has recently joined the CAHMI team here in Baltimore as an on-site staff member. She is an Assistant Scientist in the Department of Population, Reproductive, and Family Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Michele received her PhD from UC Berkeley, and her MPA from California State University, San Francisco. Michele also has training in several Complementary and Alternative Medicine techniques. She has previously worked at the Greater Los Angeles VA Healthcare System, Kaiser Permanente, the University of New Hampshire, and George Washington University. At the CAHMI, Michele works on projects around Adverse Childhood Experiences and Quality Improvement tools, including the Well Visit Planner and Promoting Healthy Development Survey, among others.
