PumpMan, and its parent company, Harrington Solutions, believe in giving back to communities in need. We also believe that giving back comes in all forms of actions, deeds and gifts. We are proud to share this recent story about marketing manager, Trap McPherson, (pictured front, left) on his recent good work in Asheville, North Carolina to support recovery and rebuilding efforts in the wake of Hurricane Helene,
On September 27, 2024, Hurricane Helene set its sights on Asheville, NC, and ultimately caused the worst disaster to that area in nearly a century. As almost 14 inches of rain fell in two days, roads turned into rivers, power lines came down, and bridges, neighborhoods, and homes were swept away. Asheville quickly became a federal disaster zone.
But sometimes, the worst disasters bring out the best in people, and one person who responded to the recovery needs was PumpMan’s Marketing Manager, Trap McPherson. As a past member of the Coast Guard and a former police officer in Alaska, Trap was used to actively serving his community and helping those in need. In addition, both PumpMan and Harrington Solutions believe in giving back whenever they can to the communities that support their businesses and helping all communities in need. So, when the need arose, PumpMan and Harrington supported Trap during this recovery effort. And Trap asked his Church Hike Team to forego their planned annual men’s hike, and instead, travel to Asheville and the surrounding areas to pitch in to the relief efforts. After initially helping during the first two post-hurricane weekends, Trap arrived during the third week with 30 of the hiking team volunteers. Trap and the group worked with local churches and community services to help families and towns throughout the Western North Carolina area most severely hit by the devastation. According to Trap, they worked in distribution centers, “mucked out” homes, cleared trees, and worked on home restorations by removing and replacing dry wall, floors, and insulation.
Trap says for him, “it was a calling from the Lord that told me to ask our hike team to give up their planned hike" in order to help with the relief efforts in the hurricane’s aftermath. So, along with the generous responses from PumpMan, Harrington, and the hiking team, Trap was able to do what comes naturally to him – to help those in need. PumpMan is beyond proud of Trap’s commitment to helping others and celebrates his unselfish and altruistic nature, all of which make him an esteemed and respected team member of the company. At the same time, Trap is so grateful to be working for a company that believes that helping those in need is not only a responsibility but also a privilege.
We are so lucky to have Trap as part of the PumpMan team. If you are looking to help Hurricane Helene's relief efforts in Asheville this holiday season, we've included the link to donate here.
Happy holidays!
