Among the initiatives the fund will support are:

The Seneca community is invited to submit ideas for an exciting collaborative Newnham Campus Cafeteria Mural Project in support of the new Food Hall.

All individuals from the Seneca community, past and present, are invited to contribute moments, memories, stories, artifacts, photographs, drawings, and anything else that might contribute to the final mural design.

Send an encouraging word to a first-year student

Do you remember your first year at Seneca? Whether it was five or twenty-five years ago, many still remember feeling butterflies stepping foot onto campus as a freshly minted Seneca student, anticipating the year ahead with nervousness and excitement. What better way to ease our first-year students into their Seneca careers than by sharing words, wishes, and wisdom from those who’ve been there?

We’re calling on our grads to submit a welcome note to our first-year students as they begin their Seneca journey. Whether it’s an inspirational quote, piece of advice, or just a few words to let our students know you’re rooting for them, send your message to[email protected] by August 31. We'll share your virtual Support Card with our first-year students during the mid-term week in October.
We may also feature your Support Card on our social media channels so don’t forget to provide your own handle!

Journalism students pay tribute to COVID-19 victims in Maclean’s

It was an assignment Seneca Journalism student Patricia Mohamed initially dreaded.

“I thought, ‘Oh my gosh, a young mother?’” she recalled. “I have to call her family and ask them about their loved one who just passed away.”

Ms. Mohamed, a mother herself, is among a group of journalism students across Canada, including several from Seneca, contributing to Maclean’s obituary project, They Were Loved. It is an initiative paying tribute to Canadians who have died from of COVID-19.
